Shutterstock Sponsors Free Arts NYC

Shutterstock employees volunteer to bring a day of art to underprivileged children in New York City

New York, April 17, 2008 - Shutterstock, the world's largest subscription-based online stock photo agency, is sponsoring Free Arts NYC, a New York based charity organization that delivers creative art programs to underprivileged children throughout the city.

In addition to the sponsorship, Shutterstock employees donated a day to create art and mentor low income, homeless, abused and neglected children at the "Shutterstock Free Arts Day" on Saturday, April 4th. More than 75 children attended the event held at the Grand Street Settlement, Beacon Center.

"We are honored to participate in Free Arts Day," said Jon Oringer, founder and CEO of Shutterstock. "Art and creativity are at the core of what we do as a company, and our partnership with Free Arts NYC allows us to nurture the creative spirit in future generations."

"We want to thank everyone at Shutterstock who volunteered to bring a day of art and fun to the underprivileged kids we serve in New York," said Liz Hopfan, director of Free Arts NYC.

Free Arts NYC provides under-served children and families with a unique combination of educational arts and mentoring programs that help them to foster the self-confidence and resiliency needed to realize their fullest potential.
