The app is now available for download in the App store for iPhone.

Prepared for iPhone 4
The new Jalbum App will provide iPhone/iPod touch users with easy, remote access to many of the features and content currently available on www.jalbum.net. • Create web photo albums straight from your iPhone
  • Upload photos to existing photo albums
  • View your own albums and spectacular user-submitted photos, conveniently listed in Featured, Popular and Recent albums.
  • Easy sharing by e-mail or copying album link to clipboard
“We wanted to combine the flexibility of Jalbums web album presentations and the ease of use of the iPhone. It makes a powerful mix that opens up for a completely new kind of usage of Jalbum”, says lead developer Daniel Plamann Solving the flash portfolio – iPhone viewing dilemma for photographers In a recent article by Scott Kelby (http://www.scottkelby.com/blog/2010/archives/9503), he describes that the industry is struggling to find a solution for showcasing flash portfolios on the iPhone or iPad. Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3 Now Available

WEBWIRE – Tuesday, June 08, 2010 - Major Release Advances Image Quality, Performance and Workflow Flexibility for Photographers

SAN JOSE, Calif. - Adobe Systems Incorporated (Nasdaq:ADBE) today announced the immediate availability of Adobe® Photoshop® Lightroom® 3 software for Windows® and Macintosh, the essential digital photography workflow solution that allows photographers to quickly organize, enhance and showcase their images from one application. First released as a public beta in October 2009, the final version of Lightroom 3 introduces a completely redesigned performance architecture that better handles growing image libraries and provides an unrivaled raw processing engine with noise reduction and sharpening tools to achieve the highest image quality. The 64-bit capable Lightroom 3 includes new features that optimize workflows and allow images to be shared in creative ways, including support for DSLR video files and tethered shooting on select cameras.

“There have been over 600,000 downloads of the Lightroom 3 public beta, which has supplied us with a huge amount of valuable feedback from a passionate community of professional and advanced amateur photographers,” said Kevin Connor, vice president of product management for Digital Imaging at Adobe. “The open dialog we have with our customers allows us to further improve Lightroom and provide the best tools they need to produce high-quality images. We’re happy to see that so many people are anxiously anticipating the final release, so they can start taking advantage of all the new features they had a hand in developing.”

Public Beta Process Perfects Lightroom 3 New Features
Re-built from its core to be lightening fast and responsive, Lightroom 3 adds power throughout the application to provide a fluid experience for photographers. Images load almost instantaneously, and the import experience has been redesigned to be more intuitive, with added previews and default selections that give users quick access to sort through and find images. Helping streamline and adapt to photographers’ changing workflows, Lightroom 3 now allows users to import and manage DSLR video files, as well as take advantage of tethered shooting for select Nikon and Canon cameras.

New state-of-the-art photographic tools help photographers bring out the best in their images. Unrivaled Luminance and Color Noise Reduction tools help produce a clearer picture from high ISO or underexposed images while still preserving details. The highly-requested Automatic Lens Correction feature can dramatically improve the results possible with any lens by allowing users to apply profiles that correct for undesirable geometric distortions, chromatic aberrations and lens vignette effects that most lenses introduce to the image. Users now also have a straighten tool to perfect vertical and horizontal perspective, additional presets for applying more photographic adjustment styles, and three new contemporary vignette styles and a Grain effect to add a more natural look with images.

Lightroom 3 Expands Image Showcasing
Output options have also been enhanced in this release, with new capabilities to publish collections on online sharing sites. Flickr® users have the ability to synch their accounts to Lightroom with one click, and integration with additional online photo sharing sites can be added via third-party plug-ins. Customizable print layouts provide more refined control over how photographers present final images, and new watermarking features, with options to modify text, size, location and style, help give professionals and amateurs flexibility for branding images. Lightroom 3 now also includes the ability to export polished slideshows as video files with the option to add audio and title screens.

Pricing and Availability
Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3 for Windows and Macintosh is available now at www.adobe.com/store, for pre-order via Amazon.com and NewEgg.com and will be available soon at retail and online outlets such as Frys, BestBuy.com, Costco.com, Walmart.com, Staples.com, OfficeMax.com, OfficeDepot.com and select camera stores. The estimated street price is US$299 for new users with an upgrade price of US$99 for qualified registered Lightroom users. Recommended system requirements are Macintosh OS X v 10.5, 10.6 with Intel® based processor, or Microsoft® Windows® 7, Windows Vista® Home Premium, Business, Ultimate, or Enterprise or Windows XP with Service Pack 3, Intel® Pentium® 4 processor, 2 GB RAM and a 1,024x768 resolution screen.

Apple Releases Aperture 3

New Features Include Faces, Places & Brushes

CUPERTINO, California—February 9, 2010—Apple® today introduced Aperture™ 3, the next major release of its powerful photo editing and management software, with over 200 new features including Faces, Places and Brushes. Building on the innovative Faces and Places features introduced in iPhoto® ’09, Aperture 3 makes it even easier and faster to organize large photo libraries. Aperture 3 introduces new tools to refine your photos including Brushes for painting image adjustments onto parts of your photo, and Adjustment Presets for applying professional photo effects with just one click. Stunning new slideshows let you share your work by weaving together photos, audio, text and HD video.

“Millions of people love using iPhoto to organize, edit and share their digital photos,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing. “Aperture 3 is designed for both professionals who edit and manage massive libraries of photos and iPhoto users who want to take their photos further with easy-to-use tools such as Brushes and Adjustment Presets.”

“Aperture 3 gets it right,” said National Geographic photographer, Jim Richardson. “The image editing tools are exactly what I have been asking for, they’re so easy to use and give me a level of control that I never even thought possible.”

“I chose Aperture because it was the most powerful archiving application around, but it’s now an unbelievable imaging tool as well,” said Bill Frakes, Sports Illustrated staff photographer. “I am beyond impressed with the massive changes made in Aperture 3.”

Aperture 3 allows you to organize large photo libraries with even more flexibility using Projects and the new Faces and Places. Faces uses face detection and recognition to find and organize your photos by the people in them. You can view faces across your entire photo library or view just the faces that appear in selected projects. In a new view that speeds up the organization process, Aperture 3 displays faces that have been detected but haven’t yet been named. Places lets you explore your photos based on where they were taken, and like in iPhoto, Places automatically reverse geocodes GPS data into user-friendly locations. In Aperture 3, you can assign locations by dragging-and-dropping photos onto a map or by using location information from GPS enabled cameras, tracking devices or your iPhone® photos.

The new Brushes feature allows you to add professional touches to your photos by simply painting effects onto the image. Aperture 3 includes 15 Quick Brushes that perform the most popular tasks like Dodge, Burn, Polarize and Blur, without the complexity of layers or masks. Brushes can automatically detect edges in your images to let you apply or remove effects exactly where you want them. Aperture 3 includes dozens of Adjustment Presets that apply a specific style or look to the entire image with just a click. You can create your own custom presets or explore the techniques of other photographers by importing theirs.

Aperture 3 makes it easy to share your work with stunning slideshows that weave together photos, audio, text and HD video. You can select one of six Apple designed themes or choose your own transitions, background, borders and titles, and even add your own soundtrack. You can export your slideshows directly to iTunes® to take with you on your iPhone or iPod touch®. You can also share photographs as beautiful prints, create custom-designed hardcover books and publish to online photo sharing sites like Facebook and Flickr, right from Aperture 3.

Pricing & Availability
Aperture 3 is available through the Apple Store® (www.apple.com), Apple’s retail stores and Apple Authorized Resellers for a suggested retail price of $199 (US) and existing Aperture users can upgrade for a suggested retail price of $99 (US). A downloadable 30-day trial version is available at www.apple.com/aperture/trial. Aperture 3 runs as a 64-bit application on Mac OS® X Snow Leopard® on Macs with Intel Core 2 Duo processors. Full system requirements, online tutorials and more information on Aperture 3 can be found at www.apple.com/aperture.

Apple ignited the personal computer revolution in the 1970s with the Apple II and reinvented the personal computer in the 1980s with the Macintosh. Today, Apple continues to lead the industry in innovation with its award-winning computers, OS X operating system and iLife and professional applications. Jalbum: New Version 8.6

This release includes several enhancements and bug fixes, requested by Jalbum's community. Their non English speaking users will enjoy a translated image editing section. Mac users will notice that Jalbum interacts better with Finder. Skin developers will appreciate that making skins for Jalbum is now easier than ever. A skin can now easily set suitable presets for any settings when you chose a style. They call this feature "style hints" and believe it helps making the experience when selecting different styles even more diverse. There are already a number of great skins that makes use of this feature.

News and Updates

* Skins may now have style specific hints too. By putting style hints files in the styles folder of a skin, these hints are applied when loading a skin or picking a style. A style specific hint has the format style name.jap, for example Black.jap. The format for style specific hints is the same as for skin hints
* You can now apply the ordering of the current folder to all subfolders in one go. (See Tools->External tools)
* The image tools (a k a image filters) have now been translated to Dutch, Finnish, German, Korean, Portugues, Slovak and Swedish. Thank you dear skin translators!
* Thumbnails can now have a higher JPEG compression quality than slides. Good for thumbnails with embedded frames that might need that extra quality to avoid visible JPEG artifacts.
* When saving album projects. Jalbum can now make backups of the previous album project
* Bundled skin "Galleria" updated to make use of new skin developer features (style specific hints and StateMonitor class)
* On Mac: Deleted files now moved to the recycle bin if you're running on the latest Java update (Perform a check for updates under the Apple menu)
* On Mac: When performing "Show in file system" and when packing skins, the target object is selected in Finder. This requires you to run the latest Java update (Perform a check for updates under the Apple menu)
* When updating skins, skin installer now moves the previous skin version to the recycle bin. (On Mac, this requires an updated Java)
* Skins may now omit the "slide.htt" file. This disables the "Make slides" checkbox. No need to create dummy slide.htt files or add slides=false hints anymore
* Installer for Windows (AdvancedInstaller) updated from v7.3.1 to v7.5

Bug fixes

* Skin loading rewritten. These weird race conditions and scripting errors when loading skins repeatedly should now be gone
* Fix for spinning spinners in Jalbum's info window if user hasn't added any accounts
* Jalbum would fail on startup if it didn't find the last used Look and Feel
* Calling ui2Engine from a skin would clear the username for temporarily signed in users
* Jalbum would fail connecting to accounts lacking a password. Connecting without a stored password triggers an interactive password dialog, but the entered password was ignored

Bibble 5 Pro Now Available

Blazing Fast Photographic Workflow Including Complete Selective Editing, Photo Organization Tools, and RAW support for all the latest dSLR's

Austin, Tx, Dec 30th, 2009:
Bibble Labs, Inc today announces the immediate availability of the all-new Bibble 5 Pro Photographic Workflow application for Windows, Mac and Linux, bringing to market a new level of power, speed and control to digital photography.

Bibble 5 Pro excels in the areas that matter most to today's photographers, including flexible tools for organizing and managing digital photographs, the most complete selective editing tools offered in a photographic workflow application, and RAW conversion and editing speed up to 88 times as fast as other leading applications.

Real Power, Really Fast

Bibble 5 Pro includes a totally new, completely multi-threaded image processing engine, allowing it to process images faster than anything else. Efficient enough to be perfectly usable on netbooks and older computers, yet powerful enough to take full advantage of 4, 8, 16 or even more CPU's, Bibble 5 Pro is designed to fully utilize all the computing power available to it. On high-end computers, Bibble 5 Pro is up to 88 times faster in processing and exporting images that other leading applications, while on single CPU computers and more modest machines, Bibble 5 Pro can still be 2 to 8 times faster. "With dual core processors now being replaced with four-core processors, and with 6- an 8- and higher core count processors on the horizon," says Eric Hyman, founder and owner of Bibble Labs, "it's clear that utilizing the full power of those additional CPU's is the key to true workflow performance."

Total Editing Power and Freedom: Unrestrained Selective Editing

Bibble 5 Pro's Selective Editing framework allows its image editing tools to operate on the complete image or a limited portion of an image, fully integrated into a totally non-destructive workflow. "The ability to apply just about every tool Bibble 5 offers within freeform curves or brushed regions opens up amazing editing possibilities" says Jeff Stephens, President of Bibble Labs. "This exemplifies our commitment to building the most flexible, most powerful, and most widely available photographic workflow application." Essentially any image adjustment tool offered in Bibble 5 Pro - including 3rd Party Plug-ins - may be applied selectively to key portions of images, allowing an unparalleled level of creative control: quickly apply multiple white-balance settings to fix difficult or mixed lighting situations, apply noise reduction only to the deepest shadows, sharpen only key points of interest, the possibilities are endless.

Bibble Labs continues to offer the industry's only RAW-level plug-in API, allowing 3rd Party developers to write image editing tools that can access decoded RAW files, TIFF's and JPEG's directly within Bibble 5's image editing pipeline. With Bibble 5 Pro's plug-in API, every plug-in built for Bibble 5 is also open to the full power of Selective Editing, adjustment Presets, edit History and all of Bibble 5 Pro's other workflow advantages.

Asset Management: Innovative, Powerful and Flexible

Importing images into catalogs allows Bibble 5 to summarize information about the photos in that catalog which enables searching or browsing by a wide range of metadata. Such tools are indispensable when working with a large body of images; yet it is the optional nature of Bibble 5 Pro's Cataloging system that makes it uniquely powerful. "Catalogs and metadata searching and browsing are critical when working with tens of thousands of images or more" says Stephens. "But hand me a memory card with a dozen photos while I'm working in Bibble 5 - that's when its flexibility really starts to shine." Bibble 5 Pro allows the photographer to quickly switch to 'File System' mode, allowing them to just click on the folder where these few images are stored and go to work on them right away. Those images are not imported into the catalog, but all Bibble 5's other tools and capabilities can be applied.

Multiple Catalogs can be open at once, while browsing or searching across all open catalogs, which provide immense storage and organizational flexibility. Unique and powerful "Refine" browsing allows photographers to gradually narrow their photographic collection down to show only the images that are necessary at that moment. Bibble 5 Pro is the only photographic workflow application to provide this level of flexibility and choice in the critical decisions that each photographer faces regarding cataloging and asset management.

Solid Platform For Future Advancements

"We continue to be committed to bringing value to our customers after they purchase our products," says Stephens, "and we already have some exciting things in store for later versions of Bibble 5." Bibble 4 was upgraded and enhanced with major features twelve times over several years, adding major new components release after release. Bibble 5 will carry on this tradition, with the first free update planned in Q1 2010.

Availability, Upgrades, and Pricing

Bibble 5 Pro is available immediately for Windows, Mac, and Linux computers for $199.95 from http://bibblelabs.com. Bibble Labs customers who purchased Bibble 4 since September, 2006 are eligible for a free upgrade to Bibble 5 Pro. Earlier Bibble 4 Pro customers may upgrade to Bibble 5 Pro for $99.

Bibble 5 Lite will follow, scheduled in the first quarter of 2010. Bibble 4 Lite customers who purchased Bibble 4 since September, 2006 will have immediate access to Bibble 5 Pro until Bibble 5 Lite is available.

Bibble 5 Pro includes RAW support for many of the newest SLR's available, including Canon 7D, S90 and G11, Nikon D3s, and D5000, Pentax K-x, Sony's a850 and a550, and many others. Bibble 5 is available on Windows, Mac, and Linux, and has lower hardware requirements than many other applications in its class.

BenVista releases PhotoZoom Classic 3

ARNHEM, December 17, 2009 -- Today a new title has been added to BenVista's digital image enlargement software series PhotoZoom.

Following to their release of a new Pro version last Summer, BenVista now released PhotoZoom Classic 3.

With the new product, BenVista strives for widening the PhotoZoom user base. While the Pro version is designed mainly for professionals, PhotoZoom Classic 3 aims at home users. Accessibility forms a key factor here, both with respect to ease-of-use and pricing. Nonetheless, quality has been maintained as much as possible.

BenVista's CEO, D. Schoolwerth, explains: "The fact that PhotoZoom Classic 3 is designed for home users certainly does not prevent it from producing professional results. The software is equipped with BenVista's award-winning, patented S-Spline resize technologies. That includes S-Spline XL, a technology which until recently has only been offered by the more expensive PhotoZoom Pro 2, and which is known for its image enlargements of outstanding quality".

With regard to ease-of-use, Schoolwerth continues: "PhotoZoom Classic
3 offers a number of S-Spline based presets that were specially designed for different types of images. With these presets a lot of preliminary work has already been done, and the user won't have to bother with technical settings. Results can be compared with one another in a large preview window. This way the user is able to determine in a fast and convenient way which preset is most suitable for enlarging the given image. For example: there is a preset that suppresses noise and compression artifacts. Perfect for images from the Internet!".

PhotoZoom Classic 3 runs as a stand-alone application, and is available for both Mac OS X and Windows. Free demo versions can be downloaded directly from the BenVista website: www.benvista.com.

Also, BenVista offers various upgrade options to registered users.
