Science Photo Library’s new website celebrates the breadth and depth of the collection
London (UK) (CEPIC), 26 OCTOBER 2009 - The world’s leading provider of science and specialist imagery Science Photo Library (SPL) has re-launched its website. The new site divides SPL’s vast collection into seven searchable categories: Animals, Environment, Flowers, Healthcare, History, Science & Technology and Space. For more than 25 years Science Photo Library has had an unrivalled reputation in the fields of technical and medical imagery. The SPL collection has evolved over time to represent the many other subjects falling under the broad term ‘science’.
SPL’s Sales manager Mark Abbott says: “ SPL has an incredible collection of over 300,000 images. For a long time we have been the first place to visit for specialist image requests. With our new website it is easy to see that we excel in many other areas than our unique selling point”. The website also marks the launch of SPL’s new Motion collection, comprising the best science footage from around the world.
The video clips range from the ocean floor to the edge of space, from nanorobots to aerial cityscapes revealing the world in ultra high speed, showing the beauty of time-lapse sequences and displaying events beyond the reach of the human eye Head of SPL Motion Ben Jones says: “ We are delighted to work with so many exclusive specialist footage contributors, and trust that the high-quality and unique nature of our collection will appeal to a broad range of clients”.
