Sony Ericsson Offers Wannabe Photographers a Taste of the Big Time

Sony Ericsson C905 Photographic Competition:

Attend a number(i) of key red carpet events in 2009 as an official Sony Ericsson Photographer.

What does that mean? Well ONLY that you get to behind the scenes to some of the year's most exciting events - which could be a film premiere or music awards ceremony - to snap away on the hottest Sony Ericsson cameraphone of the moment, which yes, you get to keep.

The competition is only open to people based in the UK. Sorry if that doesn't include you.

If it does, join and upload a 'never before published online' portrait shot YOU took to our Flickr group. Then go out and find people to vote for your efforts.

We'll give you some tools to show off your work and drum up support, including a facebook badge, and other simple applications to share on your own social network profiles and blogs.

This link allows you to create a competition badge to embed in any webpage and will stream all pictures you upload to the group. We hope it'll help you get support from your friends.

The individuals who create the five pictures with the most 'Favs' will go through to the final round where they are provided with a C905 (8.1 megapixel) camera-phone which they get to keep.

They will be challenged to a take a particular picture (revealed the night before) every day for a week. Again the individual who gets the most combined 'Favs' for their series of seven pictures wins the 'red carpet' prize.

How to enter:

Photos for the competition are being stored and shared on Flickr, the free photo storage and sharing site owned by Yahoo. You can submit photos by following these steps:

1. If you don't already have one, sign up for a free Flickr account or login using your existing Yahoo account if you have one.

2. Join the 'Sony Ericsson C905 Photographic Competition' Flickr group

3. Upload a portrait photo (we mean a picture of a person), you have shot and that hasn't been previously uploaded to Flickr, to your account, tagging it with 'sony ericsson, c905, photo competition'

4. Go to the page of the photo(s) you want to submit to the competition.

5. Click the "Send to Group" button between the photo title and the photo.

6. Choose the 'Sony Ericsson UK Photographic Competition' Flickr group

Timeline:

10th November - Competition officially launches

5th December - Finalists announced and Sony Ericsson C905 handsets sent out.

5th-12th December - Photo's taken on Sony Ericsson C905 uploaded to group and voting starts.

15th-19th December - Voting continues
22nd December - Winner announced.
