New Release of PlotWorks for Canon imagePROGRAF Printers Enables Batch Plotting, Load Balancing and Consumable Reading for On-site Service Providers
LAKE SUCCESS N.Y., October 17, 2008 – Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leader in digital imaging technology, today announced that PLP Digital Systems, Inc., a leading provider of production workflow management applications and decision support tools, has joined Canon's imagePROGRAF Alliance Partner Program. Through this co-marketing program, Canon will be working together with PLP to ensure the reprographics market is aware of the PlotWorks software solution and its compatibility with the Canon imagePROGRAF line of printers. The combination of products provides the reprographics market with another targeted solution for printing more efficiently and effectively in a high-volume setting.
As part of Canon's Alliance Program, PLP Digital Systems has completed compatibility testing of its PlotWorks software solution with Canon's large format devices. PlotWorks software interprets and converts data from various file formats into a form that printers can understand and use easily. As a result, Canon U.S.A. will promote this compatibility through co-marketing and awareness generation initiatives targeting solution applications within its CAD/GIS and Scan/Copy markets. Canon U.S.A. features its alliance program on its corporate Web site (www.usa.canon.com), along with other channel marketing communications.
"We are pleased to announce the new alliance between PLP and Canon, and believe that by joining the strengths of both companies, end-users will be able to further extend and optimize the functionality of their imagePROGRAF devices to create a seamless workflow," said Jim Rosetta, vice president and general manager, Imaging Systems Group, Canon U.S.A. "The relationship between PLP and Canon demonstrates Canon's commitment to discovering the most efficient workflow solutions for Canon imagePROGRAF customers."
"There are great synergies between PLP's products and Canon's products," stated John Cronin, CEO of PLP Digital Systems. "We believe the innovations in our joint products will enable our mutual partners to deliver successful outsourced reprographic services. The combination of the PlotWorks solution and Canon's large format printers will enable end-users to take full advantage of the latest printing technologies through a cost-effective solution that requires little up-front capital."
PLP's industry leading PlotWorks software is a wide-format solution that significantly streamlines digital printing and scanning operations. Delivering batch plotting, load balancing and consumable reading, the PlotWorks solution provides valuable information to service providers about the state of onsite equipment, enabling them to increase customer satisfaction.
