Fotolia Welcomes Its 4 Millionth Image

New York, NY – August 26, 2008 – Fotolia, one of the world’s leading sources for legal, low-cost imagery welcomes its four millionth image, titled “Hot Air Balloon” and uploaded by Christopher Völlmya, a Fotolia contributor from Switzerland.

"We are pleased to be announcing our four millionth image,” says co-founder and president Oleg Tscheltzoff. “Since the beginning Fotolia have prided ourselves in bringing together top photographers and illustrators with a wide variety of media buyers. We are thrilled to be able to spotlight the work of a Fotolia photographer with our own milestone. Without our photographers, we would not have had the success we have today, as one of the world’s leading providers of high-quality, micro-priced images.”

Fotolia’s contributors range from amateur enthusiasts who use the site to supplement their incomes or for the chance to see their work in print or online, to professional photographers who make generous incomes as full-time microstock contributors. Fotolia has also attracted photographers from some of the world’s largest and best-reputed agencies as contributors, due to our broad variety of media buyers. Since its launch in November, 2005, Fotolia has grown to offer the world’s largest library of legal, micro-priced images on the Web. Professional and amateur photographers alike have the ability to connect with more than 300,000 media buyers – ranging from small home businesses to the world’s top brands.
