(WEBWIRE) – Friday, February 26, 2010 - White House News Photographers Association Honors NPR Multimedia Team With "The Eyes Of History" Awards
Washington, D.C. - NPR News has earned 15 honors in the 2010 White House News Photographers Association’s "The Eyes of History" awards. The annual awards, announced last week, recognize outstanding achievements in photojournalism.
NPR journalists from its multimedia department placed in 11 separate categories, more than any other broadcast news media, with three first place wins: "America’s Battalion" in Afghanistan, offering a rare glimpse of what life is like for Marines in the field, for Photography and Audio with Natural Sound; "No Man’s Land" looking at areas along the barrier separating Israel and the West Bank, in Photography and Audio with Narration; and an image of Marines from the 2nd Battalion, 8th Regiment under fire in Afghanistan’s Helmand Province for the International News category.
