Hi-Tech Toys For The Holidays Features KODAK s1220 Photo Scanning System as ‘Cool Gadget’ for Turning Prints into Digital Images

Rochester, NY, November 25 -- In the age of all things digital consumers find it easier than ever to capture and save important moments. With the KODAK s1220 Photo Scanning System, an out of the box solution for converting prints to digital images, consumers and businesses now have a way to digitize and preserve the memories from their film based photographs. Hi-Tech Toys For The Holidays, a nationally syndicated television show that helps shoppers make important gift decisions, will feature the s1220 Photo Scanning System on its program 139 times during November and December in more than 100 unique markets.

“Now here’s a cool gadget you probably have not seen but would love to have, the KODAK s1220 Photo Scanning System. The s1220 virtually eliminates labor intensive manual feeding. You can place even a disorganized stack of photos or documents in the feeder, and the system digitizes them in minutes,” said Brett Larson, Host, Hi-Tech Toys For The Holidays. “It will also fix common problems such as red eye, incorrect color balance, and poor contrast.”

The KODAK s1220 Photo Scanning System provides novice and expert photographers with a simple method for converting hard copy photographs into digital images for easy storage. Images are used for archiving to CDs, DVDs and uploading to photo Web sites, including KODAK Gallery, to share memories with friends and family.

“Digital images help consumers create new ways to use their photographs, from enhanced prints to personalized gifts, such as calendars or photobooks,” said Sue Cardot, Worldwide Director for Solutions, Document Imaging, Kodak’s Graphic Communications Group. “For photo retailers, businesses, or gadget junkies, the s1220 delivers digital images that can repurposed for new projects at the quality of the original prints themselves.”

Available via Kodak’s online store, the s1220 Photo Scanning System retails for $1,795 and includes a desktop photo scanner, as well as photo processing software. The versatile countertop system is capable of scanning up to 30 photos a minute at 300 dots per inch (dpi). Kodak’s Perfect Page Image Processing Technology automatically adjusts image properties, such as brightness, contrast and color balance, helping to produce high quality digital images.

Beyond photographs, the s1220 Photo Scanning System can also utilize KODAK SmartTouch Software to process and organize scanned documents, in searchable PDF or TIFF formats, making this a truly versatile system.
