Panasonic Expands Its Popular ZS-Series Of Digital Cameras With Additional Advanced Features Including Intuitive Touch Screen Control And Full HD Video

Panasonic LUMIX ZS10 Features a 24mm Ultra-Wide-Angle Leica Lens and a Powerful 16x Optical Zoom, 3D Photo Mode and Built-In GPS Functions

SECAUCUS, NJ (January 25, 2011) – Panasonic today introduced the LUMIX DMC-ZS10 as the newest member of its acclaimed LUMIX ZS-Series of digital cameras that has won worldwide popularity for its versatile lens from ultra wide-angle to long zoom.  The LUMIX ZS10 continues its versatility with a 24mm ultra-wide-angle and powerful 16x optical zoom LEICA DC VARIO-ELMAR lens – and it features full-High Definition 1920x1080 video recording capability, a newly-adopted large 3.0-inch, 460,000-dot Smart Touch Intelligent LCD – which allows for Touch Zoom, Touch Auto Focus (AF), Touch Shutter, and Touch Playback.  The LUMIX ZS10 also features a built-in GPS (Global Positioning System) function allowing geotagged images to be pinpointed via online maps and easily shared with friends and families.

“With the introduction of the LUMIX ZS10, Panasonic expects to continue to lead the market in long zoom digital cameras, as this very advanced digital camera not only offers a 16x optical zoom, but with an even wider 24mm Leica lens, this is a truly robust digital camera for both still photos and full HD 1080 videos,” said David Briganti, Senior Product Manager, Imaging, Panasonic Consumer Electronics Company. “With new features such as touch-screen operation and even a 3D photo mode, Panasonic continues to pack the ZS10 with innovative features for capturing high-quality photos and videos, which can be easily shared with family and friends using the new LUMIX Image Uploader feature.”

The Panasonic LUMIX ZS10 also features the new Panasonic 3D Photo mode, which produces a realistic 3D photo by taking 20 consecutive photos and overlaying the two best images which provide a 3D image that can then be played on a Panasonic VIERA 3D HDTV. The format of the 3D image is compatible with MPO, and can also be played back on other MPO-compatible equipment such as a televisions, digital photo frame and printers.  Panasonic also adds the LUMIX Image Uploader for seamless and instant sharing via Facebook (for digital photos) or YouTube (for videos). Users can checkmark the photo or video files they want to share, connect it to a PC with the included USB cable or by inserting the SD Memory Card directly into the PC’s SD Card slot, and then the uploading automatically launches with an easy-to-follow menu option.

Using the touch-screen, once locked on the subject, the LUMIX ZS10 tracks the subject with the AF tracking function even if it moves. With the Intelligent Scene Selector in the iA mode, the LUMIX ZS10 automatically switches to the appropriate mode according to the subject touched. For example, a touch on a human face switches to the portrait mode and a touch on the background or a landscape changes to the Scenery mode, while a touch on the subject close in the foreground changes to Macro mode. All menu settings are now available with touch control. The touch-screen operation excels not only for shooting, but also in playback, allowing the user to drag the images across the screen with a finger and browse the collection of photos as though flipping the pages of a book.

Newly adopted 14.1-megapixel MOS sensor and the advanced image processor Venus Engine FHD feature high speed, high sensitivity image recording to realize 1920x1080 full-HD movie recording and high speed burst shooting in high picture quality. It also compiles the Intelligent Resolution technology to perform optimum signal processing to give the entire image outstandingly natural clearness with fine details. The powerful 16x optical zoom – available while shooting videos – increases its power to 21x equivalent with the Intelligent Zoom function, taking advantage of Intelligent Resolution technology. The Sonic Speed AF also boasts approximately 49% higher speed compared to its LUMIX ZS7 predecessor.

The LUMIX ZS10 shoots 10 fps in 14-megapixel full resolution with mechanical shutter and 5 fps with continuous AF. Even higher speed burst shooting is available with LUMIX ZS10 if the electronic shutter is used - 60 fps in 3.5-megapixel*1. The LUMIX ZS10 is an advanced photographic tool for recording not only great photos but also beautiful full-HD movies. In addition to Motion JPEG images, the LUMIX ZS10 can record high-resolution full-HD 1920x1080 60i videos in AVCHD (MPEG-4 / H.264)* format. The high frame rate of 60i excels in recording moving subjects with outstanding smoothness. The videos also come with the high-quality stereo sound of Dolby® Digital Stereo Creator, to offer highly realistic sound.

Panasonic’s iA Mode, a suite of technologies that engage automatically, has evolved for more powerful image stabilization while video recording and taking still photos with Active Mode which boosts POWER OIS to excel in suppressing blur when recording videos at wide angle while walking. New iA features include the Intelligent Handheld Nightshot, which creates a beautiful night scenery with illumination by layering the images shot consecutively. Furthermore, the Intelligent Burst Shooting automatically sets the frame rate of burst shooting according to the subject’s movement – whether it moves fast or slow – utilizing the mechanism of Intelligent ISO Control.  Other features of iA include: Motion Deblur, POWER OIS, Face Recognition, Face Detection, AF Tracking, Intelligent ISO Control, Intelligent Scene Selector and Intelligent Exposure. With iA, taking beautiful photos is possible for users at any skill level. In addition, the Intelligent Resolution technology is always activated in the iA mode, which helps produce even clearer photos by precisely performing signal processing, pixel by pixel, to help ensure clear and sharp images.

The LUMIX ZS10 digital camera features a built-in GPS system which tags the location data where the photo was taken with its latitude and longitude automatically in the Exif data. Plus, the LUMIX ZS10 also shows the name of the Country/Region, State/Prov./County, County/Township, City/Town/Village and Landmark by using internal data to give users details on where the photos or videos were taken.  The area information covers 203 countries or regions for global users. Plus, more than 1,000,000 landmarks over 78 countries or regions are in the database. Using the included software PHOTOfunSTUDIO 6.1 HD Lite Edition, photos and videos can be searched by location and names. The LUMIX ZS10 also features an internal clock that automatically adjusts to the local time when GPS is enabled – a handy feature for travelers.

The LUMIX DMC-ZS8 was also added to the ZS-Series of cameras and maintains the versatile 24mm ultra-wide angle and powerful 16x optical zoom LEICA DC VARIO-ELMAR lens. Other features include:
  • iA mode including POWER OIS, Intelligent ISO Control, Intelligent Scene Selector, Face Recognition, Intelligent Exposure
  • Venus Engine VI featuring Intelligent Resolution

Sony Introduces Innovative 3D Camcorders And Cameras

LAS VEGAS (CES Booth #14200), Jan. 5, 2010 – Sony today unveiled its new Handycam® camcorders, Bloggie® cameras and Cyber-shot® digital still cameras with powerful image sensors, new innovative features and strong core video and still photo capture capabilities that make it even easier to get the best shot—even in 3D.

“With these new camcorders and cameras, Sony continues to transform ideas into reality, imagination into real-world products,” said Brennan Mullin, senior vice president of the digital imaging group.

New digital imaging products and accessories will be on display at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES International Convention). In the Handycam category, Sony will showcase the world’s first “Double Full HD” 3D consumer camcorder (HDR-TD10) with a glasses-free 3D LCD touch panel display, camcorders with a built-in projector (HDR-PJ50V, HDR-PJ30V and HDR-PJ10) and a video enthusiast-level consumer camcorder with hallmark Handycam features (HDR-CX700V).

In the MP4 video category, the company will display Bloggie 3D—the world’s first HD 3D pocket camera (MHS-FS3)—an innovative model with two lenses, two image sensors, and stereo microphone that captures easy-to-share 3D or 2D video and photos. You can view 3D images without glasses on the built-in LCD.

In the Cyber-shot category, the company will feature the world’s first digital still cameras with 1080/60p HD video capability (DSC-TX100V) and 3D Still Image mode with a single lens and imager (DSC-TX10, DSC-HX7V, DSC-WX10, and DSC-WX9). These new top models also add a 16.2 megapixel “Exmor R” CMOS sensor and one model adds a touch screen with OLED.

Additionally, Sony will highlight the new DVDirect® (VBD-MA1), which offers easy, one-touch transfer of high definition video and images to Blu-ray Disc™ media.

High-Definition Camcorders

Along with significant improvements in the entire Handycam camcorder family, three new additions bring 3D technology, a video projector and enthusiast solutions to Sony’s industry-leading high definition lineup.

Adding to Sony’s breadth of 3D products, the HDR-TD10 is the world’s first “Double Full HD” 3D consumer camcorder. The camcorder employs an integrated dual lens system, which includes two of each key component—double Sony G Lenses, double “Exmor R” CMOS image sensors, and double BIONZ® image processors. The dual recording system allows 3D content to be recorded in 1920x1080 Full HD resolution. The content can be viewed with 3D active glasses on 3D-capable HDTVs or in Full HD 2D on non-3D displays. In addition, the 3D footage can be viewed in 3D without glasses on the camcorder’s 3.5-inch Xtra Fine LCD™ 3D touch screen. Providing 64 GB of flash memory, the HDR-TD10 will be available in April for about $1,500.

Handycam camcorders with a built-in video projector offer the ultimate playback experience, even on the go. A compact, LED-based projector is built into the 3-inch flip-out LCD panel, maintaining the camcorder’s compact size and allowing video and images to be projected at up to 60 inches (diagonally; when projected 18 feet away) onto walls, ceilings or other flat surfaces.

Combined with powerful stereo speakers with Clear Phase™ and S-Master™ digital amplifiers, the integrated projector provides a whole new way to enjoy video playback without needing to plug into an HDTV. The HDR-PJ50V with a 220GB Hard Disk Drive will be available in April for about $1000, while the HDR-PJ30V with 32GB of flash memory and HDR-PJ10 with 16GB of flash memory will be available in March for about $950 and $700, respectively.

Sony also introduced the video enthusiast-level HDR-CX700V consumer camcorder with hallmark Handycam features—“Exmor R” CMOS image sensor, Wide Angle Sony G Lens, Optical SteadyShot™ image stabilization with Active Mode, Event Browse, Highlight Playback—and a wealth of new technologies borrowed from Sony’s professional products. The camera boasts film-like shooting with 24p native recording, along with CinemaTone presets, as well as advanced features such as Expanded Focus, Zebra and Peaking settings and other manual controls. The newly developed 16:9 “Exmor R” CMOS sensor realizes a wider angle of view and higher megapixels for video and photos. With 96 GB of flash memory, the HDR-CX700V will be available in March for about $1,300.

On the other end of the video spectrum, Sony’s affordable and fun Bloggie HD camera line welcomes three models that each brings distinct value to the category.

The world’s first HD 3D pocket camera,* the MHS-FS3 “Bloggie 3D” model boasts two lenses, two image sensors and two stereo speakers to capture incredible 3D or 2D video and photos.

Recorded content from the MHS-FS3 can be played back in 3D without glasses on the camera’s 2.4-inch LCD screen or on any 3D capable HDTV with glasses.

The wonderfully simple HD camera lineup also offers a dual-screen option dubbed the Bloggie Duo camera (MHS-FS2). The slim camera features two vibrant LCD screens—2.7-inch on the back and 2-inch on the front—for new ways to capture yourself and others in full HD video or 5.1-megapixel photos. The Bloggie Duo camera has a built-in LED light and comes in four fashionable colors including violet, green, pink and white.

An entry model completes the trio of Bloggie camera introductions, offering on-the-go video lovers a smart, pocket device at a low price point. The MHS-FS1 sports an ultra compact, lightweight design with a large 2.7-inch LCD screen and comes in black and white.

The Bloggie (MHS-FS1) and Bloggie Duo (MHS-FS2) cameras, both with 4GB of internal memory, will be available in March for about $150 and $170, respectively. The Bloggie 3D camera (MHS-FS3) with 8GB of internal memory will be available in April for about $250. Cyber-shot Digital Still Cameras

Sony has designed five new innovative 16.2-megapixel Cyber-shot cameras (DSC-TX100V, DSC-TX10, DSC-HX7V, DSC-WX10 and DSC-WX9) that are the world’s first compact digital still cameras to include 3D Still Image mode for taking 3D images using only one lens and imager. They also have innovative Dual Rec (record) technology for taking still photos during video capture.

The DSC-TX100V camera is the world’s first compact digital still camera to include full HD (1920 x 1080/60p) video capability for smooth playback while recording action shots such as sports.

It is also the first Cyber-shot with a 3.5-inch touch screen with OLED that provides deeper blacks and more vibrant color contrast while being thinner than most LCDs. Additionally, the DSC-WX10 camera is one of few digital still cameras to include a high speed linear autofocus feature that provides quick and more precise focusing similar to the speed of a DSLR camera.

The DSC-TX10 camera is waterproof, shockproof, dustproof and freeze-proof compliant, offers HD movie and 3D photo capture, plus Intelligent Sweep Panorama, an “Exmor R” CMOS sensor that promises crisp clear photos even in low light and a 3-inch touch screen.

With Sony’s “Exmor R” Back illuminated CMOS sensor technology, these models provide excellent low-light performance, up to 10fps burst shooting and the Intelligent Sweep Panorama™ feature. These cameras with CMOS sensors will range from $220 to $380 and will be available in March.

Some of Sony’s most affordable full-featured point-and-shoot cameras to-date, Sony today also announced new models with CCD sensors in its W, H, and T-series Cyber-shot lines including models DSC-W510, DSC-W530, DSC-W560, DSC-W570, DSC-T110 and DSC-H70.

The all new W-series models feature Sweep Panorama mode plus a bevy of Sony innovations including SteadyShot® image stabilization that reduces blur, iAuto mode that automatically optimizes camera settings plus Face Detection and Smile Shutter™ technology, making it easy and affordable to get the best shot. The DSC-W530 and DSC-W570 will be available in February and the DSC-W510 and DSC-W560 will be available in March, ranging in price from about $110 to about $180.

Sony also introduced a fresh, sleek addition to its world-class all-touch-screen T-series cameras (DSC-T110) that combine the must-have ultra slim design factor with all the cutting-edge features the in-crowd demands.

Starting with the entry-level DSC-T110, the T-models feature a 3-inch LCD touch screen, Sweep Panorama mode and 720p HD movie capture. The DSC-T110 camera will be available in March for about $220.

Sony also introduced a new 10x optical zoom Cyber-shot camera (DSC-H70). With a 16-megapixel CCD sensor, it has the innovative Sweep Panorama™ feature, 720p HD movie recording, Optical SteadyShot™ and a 25mm wide lens. The DSC-H70 will be available in March for about $230.

Digital Imaging Accessories

Sony today debuted its next-generation multi-function Blu-ray Disc™/DVD recorder, which can easily transfer high-definition AVCHD™ home videos as well as digital photos to Blu-ray Disc/DVD media. It can also record standard-definition home videos on tape media to DVD via an analog input—all without using a computer.

The new VBD-MA1 model has a 2.7-inch color LCD screen for previewing video or up to six digital photos at a time, and its overall size is almost 20 percent slimmer than the current model (VRD-MC6).

The VBD-MA1 has a wide compatibility with Sony’s Handycam camcorders, Cyber-shot cameras, α cameras, select non-Sony camcorders and almost all video tape devices such as VHS, miniDV and Hi8. Also, the VBD-MA1 model can connect to a PC via USB2.0 and be used as an external BD Writer.

Blu-ray Disc media and DVD discs can be played back on compatible Blu-ray Disc devices, including players and computer drives, as well as PlayStation®3 (PS3™) computer entertainment systems. However, Blu-ray Disc media and AVCHD DVD cannot be played on DVD players.

Up to 19 hours and 20 minutes of HD video or up to 6,000 digital pictures can be recorded on a 50GB double layer Blu-ray Disc media. The new VBD-MA1 model maintains Dolby Digital® 5.1 surround sound as well as 4:3 and 16:9 aspect ratios with compatible camcorders.

The DVDirect® VBD-MA1 recorder will be available for about $300 at Sony Style® stores and other major retailers around the country in March.

AVCHD Movie Software

Sony today introduced a new AVCHD movie application based on the Playstation®3 system called Filmy, which stands for “my film.”

“These enhanced JX-Series cameras represent consumers’ strong demand for a camera that reflects their personal style and maintains the full feature set that they expect from an advanced Fujifilm camera,” said David Troy, director of marketing, Digital Cameras, Electronic Imaging Division, FUJIFILM North America Corporation. “We are very excited to combine our best technology, such as HD movie capture, with a thin chassis and a high-quality FUJINON 5x zoom.”
HD Movie Capabilities
The FinePix JX300 and JX350 both offer 720p HD movie capture. This enables you to take stunning, detailed pictures and videos that can be enjoyed in ultra-sharp high definition on any HD ready television or PC, using the optional HD Player (HDP-L1) accessory kit with wireless remote control (HDMI cable not included).
Smile / Blink Detection
Photos are all too often spoiled by people blinking or grimacing. Smile Detection works with Fujifilm’s highly-acclaimed Face Detection technology to detect smiles on faces – it will not take a picture until it detects a smile, so you’re guaranteed happy shots! Another feature is Blink Detection which warns you if you have captured an image with people blinking, so you can re-shoot if necessary.
Facebook and You Tube Easy Web Upload
The new JX-Series cameras offer an innovative function called ‘Easy Web Upload’ that allows you to sort through your photos on-camera and decide which ones to upload to Facebook or You Tube. Simply connect to a PC and launch the MyFinePix Studio software (for Windows) and they will immediately upload.
PhotoBook Assist
PhotoBook Assist helps you create stunning photo books in-camera and lets you turn the pages as if you were looking at an album. In addition, the new Image Search tool lets you search by date range and type of photo.
Other features include:
i-Flash Intelligent Flash: Offers a flash control system which efficiently controls the level of flash for a given exposure to produce beautifully balanced flash illumination across the foreground and background. Gone are the ugly washout shots where the subject is blasted with light and the background dark and unexposed.
Tracking Auto Focus (AF): Tracks fast moving subjects so they don’t escape from the frame in a blur. Subjects will be tracked automatically for as long as it is kept in the frame and the shutter is half-pressed; when users fully press the shutter button your subject will be in the centre of the photo in perfect focus.
Motion Panorama Mode: Automatically stitches up to three shots to create a panoramic picture
Scene Recognition Auto (SR AUTO): This mode intelligently identifies the scene type and necessary shooting conditions to optimize picture perfect potential.
Face Detection and Automatic Red-eye Removal: To provide perfectly exposed and focused portrait shots, the cameras are fitted with Fujifilm’s latest Face Detection technology which is able to track up to 10 faces simultaneously. The system instantly corrects red-eye and then saves both the original and the corrected image file automatically.
Digital Image Stabilization: Reduces image blur automatically, resulting in excellent picture quality.
The FinePix JX300 will be available in mid-February at the price of $129.95, and the JX350 will be available in April at $159.95.

This smart, portable point-and-shoot camera offers incredible new features that let you capture it all.

The value begins with an impressive feature set that includes: 14 MP, 5x wide-angle optical zoom lens, 720p HD video capture, and a large 3.0-inch LCD to capture and review your images. Add pocketable portability, Digital Image Stabilization, AF Tracking, and the shot-enhancing Magic Art Filters. Top this combination off with an affordable price point ($139.99) and you have a multi-function camera in a slim body that far surpasses other models in its class.
High-Definition with High Impact: 720p HD Video
A picture is worth a thousand words. So what do 30 frames per second say when shot in gorgeous HD? Extend your creativity with the option of capturing the action as it happens and seeing it unfold all over again – on your television screen or on YouTube®. The VG-120 shoots gorgeous 720p HD making every day a movie day. Playback is also a breeze. Gone are the days of friends and family huddling around a tiny LCD to see the pictures you just snapped.

See the Whole Picture on an Extra-Large 3.0-inch LCD Display
Composing your shot has never been easier. With an extra-large, 3.0” display, composing that perfect shot is a breeze. See what you’ve been missing with smaller displays! This large, crisp 230,400-dot LCD makes it a pleasure to share shots on the spot with family and friends.

Frame Your Work Before You Frame Your Work: 14 Megapixels and 5x Wide Zoom
Forget post-edits with the VG-120. Simply zoom in and crop right in the camera to frame your shot perfectly the first time. With a 26mm wide-angle lens and 5x zoom, get closer to the action than ever before. 14-megapixels ensures that each shot will look beautiful, even when printed poster-size.

Express Your Inner Artist with Magic Filters
The VG-120 is equipped with in-camera Magic Filters that enable users to enhance and customize images as they’re being captured. Have more fun and flexibility without expensive and time-consuming computer software.

The Magic Filters include:
  • Pop Art – enhance and saturate colors to create vivid, high-impact pictures that express the joyful, lighthearted feeling of the Pop Art style of the 1960s;
  • Pin Hole – reduce the peripheral brightness of an image as though it were shot through a pin hole, connecting the viewer intimately with the subject at the center;
  • Fish-Eye – emulate the wide-angle of a fish-eye effect lens by taking extremely wide, hemispherical images and magnifying the center of the frame;
  • Soft Focus - encloses the foreground of an image in gentle, pastel colors with a soft, elegant focus; similar to effects achieved in a studio.
  • Drawing – turn your image into a sketch outline for children to color.
  • New! Sparkle – shoot photos with the luxurious feel of added twinkling lights; and
  • New! Punk – create two-tone images full of rock and roll spirit.
Digital Image Stabilization to Eliminate Blurry Images
The VG-120 features Digital Image Stabilization (DIS) to capture crisp, clear pictures. By boosting the camera’s ISO sensitivity and shutter speed, DIS freezes the action and provides virtually blur-free images, even when you or your subject is moving.

Easier Group Shots with Face Detection!
Wedding, birthday and family reunion group shots have never been easier with Face Detection. The VG-120 detects up to 16 faces within the frame and automatically focuses and optimizes exposure to capture sharp, brilliant portraits and group shots.

Intelligent Auto Thinks for You
With the Intelligent Auto Mode in the VG-120, your camera knows and it automatically identifies what you are shooting (i.e., Portrait, Night + Portrait, Landscape, Macro and Sports) and adjusts the camera’s settings to capture the best quality results. Anyone has the ability to jump into this quick and hassle-free feature that does the thinking for them and produces incredible images.

Lock Onto the Action with AF Tracking
AF Tracking technology locks on your fast-moving subject and continuously adjusts focus and brightness. This enables you to keep fast-moving, unpredictable subjects like small children and pets in focus for the perfect shot.

Perfect Fix In-Camera Editing
Olympus’ Perfect Fix feature offers quick solutions for unanticipated image quality issues, which may be caused by several adverse conditions. Lighting Fix can be used to adjust any underexposed areas and Red-Eye Fix can be used to reduce the effects of red-eye sometimes caused by a direct flash. Additional in-camera editing functions can be quickly accessed right in the camera by the touch of a button; features available include resizing and trimming.

High-Quality Stylish Cameras in a Range of Colors
Your creativity is not limited to just what’s in the camera. The VG-120 will be available in three colors - silver, black, and red - to suit anyone’s style.

Sharing is Caring: SD Compatibility
With SD compatibility, the VG-120 allows users to share their work easily through SD-compatible computers, digital picture frames and HDTVs.

OLYMPUS [ib] Software Makes it Even Easier to Share and Print Your Photos
All Olympus digital compact cameras now offer the new OLYMPUS [ib] photo organizing and editing software. It includes photography workflow, browsing, editing and unique photo organizing functions. You can organize photos by person with automatic face-recognition technology, by place with a map-tagging function, or by event. All information will be tagged in each photo’s data. You can then easily upload images to the integrated online service, [ib on the net], to share and backup photos, as well as order prints and photo merchandise. LAS VEGAS (CES BOOTH #14200), Jan. 5, 2011 – Continuing to innovate in the pocket video camera space, Sony today revealed new Bloggie® HD camera models that focus on affordability and fashion-forward style. Sony’s Bloggie HD cameras include unique features that break through the cluttered category while still offering simple high quality MP4 video and still photo shooting, as well as easy web sharing capabilities.
The lineup, anchored by the recently launched Bloggie Touch™ model, now includes 3D technology, dual screen capabilities and simple operation.  With the Bloggie, Bloggie Duo and Bloggie 3D models, you can capture “had to be there” moments in full high definition (1920x1080) MP4 video and 5-megapixel still photos, but in a whole new way anytime, anyplace.

“As the popularity of pocket cameras grow, we not only wanted to provide simple, compact video and photo solutions, we wanted to make these devices fun and different while still delivering a high quality product,” said Andy Bubala, director of the camcorder business at Sony Electronics. “With Sony paving the way for 3D entertainment, that technology was the perfect addition to the Bloggie family and robust offering of 3D solutions.”
Bloggie Roster
Sony’s Bloggie brand welcomes three models that each bring distinct value to the category.  The world’s first HD 3D pocket camera*, the Bloggie 3D camera (MHS-FS3) is an innovative model with two lenses, two image sensors, stereo microphone and built-in LED light to capture incredible 3D or 2D video and photos.  This content can be played back in 3D without glasses on the camera’s 2.4-inch LCD screen or utilizing 3D glasses on any 3D capable HDTV like Sony’s new BRAVIA® KDL-HX820 HDTV also announced today.
The portable HD camera lineup also offers a dual-screen option dubbed the Bloggie Duo camera (MHS-FS2).  The slim camera features two vibrant LCD screens – 2.7-inch on the back and 2.0-inch on the front under the lens – for fun new ways to capture yourself and others in full HD video or 5.1 megapixel photos.  The Bloggie Duo camera has a built-in LED light and comes in four fashionable colors -- violet, green, pink, and white.
An entry model completes the trio of Bloggie introductions, offering on-the-go video lovers a smart, pocket device at a low price point.  The MHS-FS1 sports an ultra compact, lightweight design, with a large 2.7-inch wide LCD screen, and comes in black and white.
Easy as 1, 2, 3
All of the Sony® Bloggie HD cameras are slim and stylish, with simple hard key operation, and combine hardware, software and seamless integration with internet social network services for easy, intuitive shooting and sharing.  Across the line, you can find an abundance of features including:
  • Sensitive Exmor CMOS sensor to achieve high resolution video and crisply-detailed still photos with less grain, even in challenging lighting conditions
  • Free style shooting & playback to automatically adjust GUI for vertical or horizontal shooting and viewing
  • Dual Record to enable photo capture while shooting video
  • Auto Focus / Auto Macro to allow auto focus capabilities and Auto Macro to focus sharply on objects as close as four inches away
  • 360 Video bundled kit option lets consumers capture everything around them and playback incredible 360-degree footage a quarter at a time on the camera’s LCD
  • Compatible with PC and Mac® computers, a “Share it Later” function tags the clips and pictures you want to post for easy upload the next time you’re online

The Bloggie models also have SteadyShot® image stabilization for smoother footage, Face Detection technology to enhance faces by automatically correcting focus and exposure, a built-in USB arm for easy charging and uploading to a computer, internal memory, built-in rechargeable battery, embedded Bloggie software, and HDMI output to enjoy content on your HDTV (cable sold separately).
Simple Public and Private Online Sharing
With the included Bloggie software for Mac and Windows, it’s never been easier to share videos and photos online.  Share privately with friends and family using Personal Space™ by Sony or become the next Internet sensation with integrated support for Facebook®, YouTube™, Flickr®, and Picasa Web Albums.  With Personal Space Sharing Groups, keeping friends and family updated with a constant stream of your latest photos is easy.  There’s no need to re-type long lists of recipients’ email addresses or deal with slow, bulky email attachments every time you want to share.  Add photos or videos to a Sharing Group using the “Share it Later” feature or Bloggie software, and your loved ones are just a click away from enjoying your latest memories with no registration necessary.
You and those in your Sharing Groups can also view photos and videos away from the computer with apps for iPhone® or Android™.  Additionally, Sony BRAVIA HDTV and DASH Personal Space support will be added later this year, providing even more viewing options.
The Bloggie cameras and their accessories will be sold at Sony Style® retail stores, online at www.sonystyle.com/bloggie and through authorized dealers nationwide.
